3 nights in Athens: Visit Acropolis,
the Archaeological Museum, Daphne
etc.
In the morning of the fourth day we depart for Delphi,
where we visit the museum
and the ancient site. In the afternoon we depart
for the Plastira
Lake, an artificial
lake in a superb position.Overnight by the
Plastira Lake. Enjoy the early morning
rise at the peaceful setting of the lake. In one
word it's aparadise scenery. Try, horse
riding the well trained horses, canoeing or water
cycling in the lake, riding a mountain
bike or trekking in the area. It's a picture you
will never forget. After lunch we drive
on to Meteora,
the grey coloured huge rocks with the monasteries
over the village of
Kalambaka. We finish the day at Ioannina
the beautiful capital city of Epirus, the
city of Ali Pashah, overnight. Morning
visit to the ancient site of Dodoni and
drive
southwards to arrive at Olympia,
overnight. The museum and the ancient site
at the
beautiful Olympia setting will capture you for
the whole of this morning before driving
further south with a short visit at the site of
King Nestor's Palace before arriving at
Kalamata and continue over the Taygetos mountain
for Sparta
(overnight)
Early this morning we depart for the 'Gibraltar
of Greece' the Monemvasia
castle.
Overnight in Tripolis the central town of
Peloponese. We drive to Kalavryta
one of
the most beautiful places in Greece to take the
railway for what I consider one of the
highlights of the tour. Theride on the rail and pinion
train down the gorge of the
Vouraikos river. Another unforgetable experience.
After the site of ancient Corinth
we visit the ancient theater of Epidaurus
and arrive for overnight at the sea resort of
Tolon nearby the city of Nafplion
(the first capital of Greece in 1823. We start
the
day with the visit of Nafplio, a short
stop at Tyrinth and a visit to Mycenae
before
ending this last day in Athens for the last overnight.
- 9 nights hotel accommodation in double

- Visit all ancient sites and museums
mentioned in the program including the
entrance fees and the services of
professional tour guide and the railway
ride.
- Activities at Lake Plastira are optional.
